Pop, Pop, Pop The Bubbles

We had a fun time playing with the bubbles. I would put the bubbles up and Brooke would run to the table and cry so I would get them out again. It worked because I did it way more than I had planned. They say pick your battles and I thought this was a fun battle so I let her win. Besides they were so cute and they love the bubbles. I am tired so this will be a short post. I have to pick up because the maid comes tomorrow. Hallelujah! Have a wonderful Thursday!

Mud Play

We went to "Open Play" at Gymboree today. The girls fell a sleep in the car on the way home. Normally I wouldn't let them sleep but they played so hard today. It was a short nap, as soon as they woke up we went inside to eat supper. Presley was a little fuss pot. She woke up on the wrong side of the carseat. So after we finished eating, I took them outside to play a little while before bathtime. As you can see from the first photo they were having a grand time. Daddy called as we were outside and the girls went on the other side of my car to play. They usually run around the car and chase each other, so I didn't think anything of it, until Presley walked around from the car and had mud all over her pants. I was still talking to daddy and started laughing and had to explain it to him. Brooke walked out from behind the car and had her shoe off and mud on her foot and bottom, but as she got closer I realized she had been eating the mud. Wow! sand and mud two days in a row. There must be something tasty in the both of them. I think I will pass on the tasting. I just laughed and gathereed them up to go inside and get a bath. What was I thinking letting her play in white pants. We were only going to be outside for 20 minutes. I learned my lesson, Huh! At least she was cute while she was playing in the mud and it makes for a great picture. I did change their shoes at the last minute and put their Crocs on instead of their good shoes. Boy, am I glad I did that because the Crocs can be washed. Oh well, kids will be kids and I am so glad they like to get dirty. By the way the clothes came clean. Goodnight!

More MayFest Pictures

I had to post more pics from MayFest because I have so many great pictures. I love the first two of Presely. The look on her face in both of them is so adorable. She was obviously having a fun time in the sand. Brooke still so serious but having fun also. She was so determined. Presley wondered over to some kids burying their friend. She started digging right where they were playing. I had to go and move her because she was messing things up for them. She was uncovering part of the little boy. She was babbling up a storm when I moved her. I wish I knew what she was saying because it was so cute.
Brooke was digging in the sand next to this little boy and I had a feeling she was bothering him so I went and asked him and he said, "yes." So I proceeded to move her but she kept venturing over to him. He asked me, why does she keep coming back to me. I told him she didn't really understand. It was so funny. The little boy was so engrossed in his little project. I think Brooke kept going over to him because he was in a big hole. Needless to say it just made me laugh and realize how cute kids can be.

MayFest

We went to Mayfest today and had so much fun. Thank you Tom, Brenda and Aleck for calling and inviting us to go. Gary stayed at home because he was a little under the weather. He missed a fun time. The girls were really good. I am so excited I got a decent picture of Brooke(with her sticks) and Presley. It is really hard to get them both looking at me and a good photo. I love the expression on Brooke's face. We strolled around and looked at Art Work, listened to a band, saw Elsie the cow and her calf, gathered sticks, and the best part of the day was playing in the sand. It was a huge sand pit and let me tell you ALL the kids were having a blast. I think that was the best part of the day for me to watch my children experience a pile of sand for the first time. When Presley first touched it with her feet she sat down and moved her legs and feet back and forth and was laughing the whole time. It was pure joy for her and my heart was happy to see her precious face. Brooke loved it also but she was more serious at first. She grabbed a cup and a shovel (shovels were provided) and started putting sand in her cup. Aleck was having as much fun as the girls. As you can see from the photos. They all fell a couple of times but no injuries or tears. They also ate plenty of sand. Hmm! Do you think sand has protein? If so they had enough to last them a week. (Heehehee!) When it was time to leave the girls DID not want to leave. So I filled a cup of sand and let them carry it to the car. They were okay with that idea. I told Tom and Brenda I enjoyed the day but most of all seeing those children in the sand was special. Thanks again for a wonderful memory filled day.

The Lizard

We have a lizard that lives in our bushes outside our kitchen window and is often on the window sill. The girls love to watch the little critter. They will watch it for a long time. This morning we went to see if "Lizzie" was perched up on the sill and she was there, so I ran to get the girls chairs so they could enjoy Lizzie. They were adorable. Presley is the one who will watch for the longest. She gets so excited. It's amazing that Lizzie stays as long as she does because the girls are not quiet and they beat on the window and point to the poor lizard. This is one of the times that I just love the innocence of children. I never thought I would sit and watch a lizard (gecko) as long as we did. They are not very active so therefore kind of boring to watch. But two 17 month old girls were thoroughly entertained and loved every minute of it. I love experiencing things through their eyes. What a joy to have them in my life and to make me appreciate the little things.
We went to the doctor today and Brooke and Presley both have ear infections. They are just the beginning of an infection. I guess we are pretty lucky to be the age they are and to get their first ear infection. Brooke has a little cough and runny nose and Presley has been teething but they are not bad sick. Thank goodness! But I thought better to be safe than sorry.
Well I gotta get some things done.

Play Date

I am behind in my posting. We had a play date with Aleck last week and here are some photos from the day. The girls and Aleck played so well together.
The Retreat was so much fun. I got a lot accomplished and have been working on pages since I have been home. It really motivated me to get going on the girls scrapbooks, so, that is what I have been doing.
I stayed up way too late and have been suffering a little this week. But it was definitely a much needed break. I was sad to leave on the last day. It was hard to walk out the door.
I was really glad to see the girls and I think daddy was really glad to see mommy as well. He realized how hard my job can be. He is such a good daddy.
I will post pics from the weekend later this week. Goodnight!

Hello Daddy

The girls were saying Hello to Daddy today. I had to post this today because daddy has been wanting me to put Brooke's hair in a ponytail. So, here she is with her ponytail. Isn't she adorable. She couldn't keep her hands off of it at first. I had to redo it three times. I had to bribe her with going outside and that did the trick. She finally left it alone.
I was asking Brooke where daddy was and she put her hands up like she didn't know. She was looking into his office as she did it.
I am trying to do away with the morning nap. So far so good. Presley doesn't need much sleep but Miss Brooke needs her sleep. She woke up an hour later today and was grumpy so I put her back down and she slept another hour. But not Presley she had an hour nap today. I hope she will adjust and at least sleep an hour and a half. I need that time to get stuff done.
Well I gotta get to bed. Goodnight!

More Art Fest

Here are more photos of the Fest. The first picture Gary and I were laughing so hard because in front of us was Clay and he was dancing and it was the cutest thing ever. Look, even Presley was pointing at Clay. I was trying to get Rita to look at her son because he was adorable. Check out the photos below. I love the innocence of children!
The picture of Brooke with daddy was an adorable moment also. She took his hand and was running around him as fast as she could go and let me tell you she can run fast. She was definitely having a wild moment. It seems like she has a lot of those lately. But, I love those wild moments and all that comes with them. Gary and I figured this would be a night that we could skip the bath. Well, let me tell you, they were filthy and no way were they going to bed that dirty.
Brooke fell asleep on the way home but we woke her and bathed her immediately and off to bed they went. I can never go to bed dirty so I surely wouldn't expect my wonderful children to do the same. I had to wash their Crocs in the dishwasher. Those shoes were the best invention because they are perfect for kids.
Presley has really started to talk a lot of baby talk lately and it is precious. I don't know what she is saying but she sure seems to know and I guess that is all that matters right now.
Have a wonderful week. 5 days and counting until my retreat!

Art Fest

Well, here are the pics from Art Fest. We had a great time. It was very crowded but once we found a place to sit it was much better. It wasn't easy pushing two double wide strollers in the crowded streets. But we managed. We ate, listened to a band, danced, and most of all laughed. The girls were good had to chase them down a couple of times but all in all, I think they were great. This nice man had a bird and it was very gentle. (Jake was his name) you can see him in the first picture on Gary's shoulder. The kids really enjoyed touching the bird.
I love the picture of Clay and Josh. Their hats and sunglasses were too cool.
I really love the pictures of the girls with their daddy because we hardly get photos with them and Gary didn't close his eyes. He is usually hard to photograph. Of course I got a photo with Presley but missed getting one with Brooke. It was really hard to take great pictures when we had to watch two sets of twins. I had my camera out for a while then gave it a break so I could manage my children. Daddy was a little busy, I think he needed a break. Thanks again Rita and Alan for another fun trip to Art Fest. I think for me next year will be a little easier. I will post more pics tomorrow or early next week.

Sitting Pretty

Brooke and Presley love to sit in the big chairs now. I let them but as soon as someone stands in the chair they have to get down and can you guess who does it first! That's right, BROOKE.
Presley loves to play with the blocks. She loves for me to bounce them all around in the container and say, "Pop, pop, pop" and slowly make them come out of the container (like popcorn). She will bring the blocks to me and shake the container and of course I know what she wants. But I sure will be glad when they can use their words. We are working on it but it just takes time.
I love the picture of Brooke looking around from the chair. Her expression is priceless.

We went to Gymboree this morning and the girls had a fun time. We are meeting the Mathis family at Arts Fest in Ft. Worth. We went with them last year. Gary and I have gone for a while now and we usually don't like to miss it. So I will have lots of pictures tomorrow. The girls are napping so I must get our stuff together for our outing. It is such a beautiful day I hope everyone is enjoying the 80 degree weather. Don't forget your sunscreen!
