Matagorda Beach

Our Beach trip was a blast. The girls loved the water and loved playing in the sand. They loved playing with all of their friends especially Brooke she was attached to Ryan's hip. He was so great with her and he didn't mind his little shadow. Brooke kept getting sand in her bathing suit and would pull her bottoms down to try to get it out. It was too cute and of course I did get a picture but didn't feel right posting it. Presley loved hanging out with Amber and Hollie. She is a little beach bum she was not afraid of the water at all. She would run out and jump the waves with the big kids. It was absolutely adorable to watch her be so independent They all went crabbing and I think that was the best thing for all the kids. They talked about how much fun and explained what they did. I wasn't there so no pictures were taken. The men and boys shot off fireworks and the girls enjoyed those for a while and then was on to something else. The mosquitoes were horrible I think it was their land and they were claiming it. It was a fun time and great to spend some quality time with friends. I love the group picture and hopefully we can start a tradition. I knoew I have said this before but I love to see new experiences through a childs eyes the excitement and wonder is such a joy. I can't wait for next year because it will be exciting to watch how they have grown and what new experiences they will encounter.

Happy Independence Day!

We had a great July fourth. We started it out with the neighborhood parade. The kids decorate their bikes/wagons and ride around the block with patriotic music playing. Then they draw pieces of paper and if your paper has an X on it you are the lucky person to pull the string to the cannon. Four lucky kids get to have a chance to shoot off the cannon. The kids really enjoy this except for the  loud noise from the cannon is not a big hit with the little ones. Brooke and Presley didn't get a chance at the cannon this year. They also have a contest for the best decorated bike and give out monetary prizes. The girls both came home with a dollar and were so excited to put it in their piggy bank. It is such a sweet tradition and is over before you know it. It is also a chance to see neighbors we never see.

The girls took a nap and after their nap we went to The Woodruffs to swim in their awesome pool. The girls were especially excited about the slide and the diving board. They are like little fish since they have had their swim lessons. We are so sad because their house is on the market and we will miss their pool once the house sells but so glad we enjoyed it one last time on this special day. The food and company was great. All the girls stayed at home while the guys went on to the Ranger game. It was a fun day and the girls were so exhausted they fell asleep on the way home. They were especially excited when I told them Erin was going to spend the night. They really love their play time with Erin when she comes over.

We Can Swim!

The girls have been taking swim lessons and they are swimming like fish after one week. Presley was swimming under water after the first day and Brooke was by day three. Brooke didn't like putting her face in the water. It sure does make swimming easier when your face is in the water which she learned the hard way. Brooke can float the longest on her back than anyone in the class. She is doing awesome. They want to swim in our pool when we get home so we have been practicing every day after lessons. They will jump off the diving board and are not even afraid. I am so proud of them and so glad it has been an easy process. We have missed swim lessons this week because of rain and the girls have both been sick with the stomach virus and fever. It is a nasty virus going around. I have washed  and washed clothes, towels, blankets and anything else that has gotten in the path of the sickness. I am ready to be done with it so we can have some fun.
