Nordstrom’s Fashion Show

Before we left for our ski vacation, I had taken the girls to get some new shoes and the sales person invited them to be in their upcoming fashion show. I immediately said yes, because one, I knew the girls would have a blast and two, it was a great photo opportunity and of course, a new blog post. The fashion show was on St. Patrick’s Day after we got back from skiing. The girls were so excited and would practice strutting there stuff and even blowing kisses to the fake audience. My thoughts quickly turned to day dreams of them walking the runway. I, myself couldn’t wait for my sweet girls to show me their sweet personalities. We arrived promptly at 8:30 on Saturday morning, and I realized I was crazy to agree to get out and about so early on a Saturday morning but I knew it would be worth it.

We changed our clothes and headed to get their makeup done. It was just a little blush and lip gloss. But, by the look in their eyes it was much more than makeup, it was the whole experience.

They posed for me shortly and then got a little shy and decided they were done posing.

I moved to the back of the store thinking I could get some better shots but they both walked so fast I could barely capture a shot. They didn’t strut or blow kisses to the audience like they had showed me the prior week. I think their stage fright kicked in, but this momma was still so proud of her little fashion divas.

Presley posed for me a few more times and then we were off to buy their outfits plus more. They had picked out another outfit and Mimi was kind enough to buy those for the girls. They had so much fun and I was glad we were given the opportunity for such a great day.

We had a special date to try on clothes and decide which outfit they would wear. This was the dressing room door which even had their name on the door. They spelled Brooke’s name wrong but she didn’t even notice, the excitement had already taken over. They even had snacks waiting for us when we entered the dressing room. I didn’t get a picture because they were indulging before I could get a shot.

These shoes were tried on but Cinderella didn’t choose these for the final walk.

Brooke loved this outfit and wanted to wear this one but we were told that this one was already taken. She was a little disappointed but loved the other as well so her mind was made up

Presley loved this outfit but it wasn’t a dress so it was out of the running. But it did end up in our bag on fashion day.

Of course, these were the final two outfits and they looked just precious on my two little models. Nordstrom’s really made them feel special and they really felt like a model for a day.

Cadillac Ranch

We stopped off in Amarillo on the way to New Mexico and wanted to take pictures at Cadillac Ranch but it was wet from raining so we stopped on the way back. An artist placed these old Cadillac's in a field and people can spray paint freely on the cars. You don’t see something like this often so I thought what a great photo opportunity. The kids were a little upset with us because we wouldn’t let them paint but we were headed home and we didn’t want them to get paint all over their clothes. I know, mean parents but we were on a mission.

Feeding The Deer

The deer around here will come right up to you and eat right out of your hands. You have to see it to believe it. So, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show. I was a little nervous at first because there were so many deer. At one point, I counted them and there were 17 deer all around us. Amazing, is all I can say. The kids were not even afraid. I think I was more afraid than they were. If you moved too fast they would get startled but other than that were very gentle creatures. Clay and Presley were into it more than Brooke and Josh. The deer would even try to take the cheerios right out of the cup. If you run out of food you just hold your hand up and they understood and would move on to someone else. Presley and Clay were so sweet, they shared their food with the other children. It was precious to watch the children interact with these wild animals and the excitement was definitely seen. I know it is a lot of pictures but It was so amazing I couldn’t stop clicking.
