A New Hairdo

It has been one of those weeks. Gary has been in China and the girls started their new school but only went a day and a half. Mrs. D called me on Wednesday afternoon and said Presley had vomited and Brooke had been coughing all morning. I headed to pick them up and they were home for the rest of the week. We went to the doctor on Thursday and the diagnosis for Brooke was bronchitis and Presley a virus which she was already feeling better so I think it was a 24 hour virus.I thought I was going to have a week to get things done around the house but it turned in to taking care of sick children. They were better today but Brooke was still coughing some so I kept them home.
I decided to take them to get their hair cut because Presley was in need of a cut.
It was not an easy day today. My children were in rare form and were not wanting to listen today.
They straightened Brooke's hair and it was so cute and looked longer and they curled Presley's and it made her look older. It was cute but I think I like it straight.
Daddy got home tonight and boy was I glad because after today I did not want to go at it tomorrow solo. The girls were already in bed so they will be so excited in the morning. I am glad this week is over and ready for a better week.

New School

Well, it has been a busy two weeks. We switched the girls to a new school. Today was their first day. They were both so excited this morning. I dropped them off and showed them their new cubby and where to hang their backpacks. Brooke was a little clingy so I stayed for a little while. I was there twenty minutes and they said the Lord's Prayer, sang some songs, talked about today being Tuesday, talked about the month being January and what day in January, counted to 19, Had announcements, introduced Brooke and Presley, went over the phonics alphabet, and started center time with a playmate. Brooke played with Ashton today and Presley played with Ava. They have a different playmate everyday. Once Brooke got to start playing she was fine. I took a few pictures and was ready to begin my day. Presley was a little more comfortable today. Brooke wanted mommy and wanted me to sit with her. She wouldn't even sit on the floor she had to sit on my lap. Presley participated when they were singing songs and even answered a question. She was fine with her new school and Brooke was fine as well. I was thrilled that they were adjusting so well. I walked out of that room with the biggest smile on my face because I knew they were going to love their new school and be just fine. My little girls were tackling another mile stone and I was there to witness it. My heart is full of joy!
Mrs. D said they had a great day and that Brooke was practically falling asleep at the lunch table and she took a 2 hour nap. Presley planted tulip bulbs today and Brooke said she didn't want to plant. I told her that was fine whatever she wanted to do. Mrs. D said Brooke got a little worried at one point when Presley whent with Mrs. V to get the tulip bulbs and Brooke was concerned that Presley left and was no longer at school. Once Mrs. D assured her she would be back Brooke was fine and continued to play. Mrs D. informed me both of the girls would probably be adjusted by the end of the week. My little girls are growing up.
I am so glad they had a great day. I want the best for those precious girls and I would do anything for them, I even gave up my housekeeper and have not regretted it one bit. I want them to have the best education and if I have to sacrifice that is what I will do. I love you both dearly and love being your mommy.
The girls went to bed so easy tonight. I think they were so tired from their busy day. I think I will like this school even more if they go to bed as easily as they did tonight.

A Cherished Dinner

We get invited every year to a New Years dinner at the VanVoorhis home and it really means a lot to me. They are such a joy to be around and have always made me feel like family. I truly cherish the time I spend with them, although it isn't as often as I would like but appreciate any time I get with all of them. Carole is like a mom to me and Vic just makes me laugh. Chris has such a fun loving spirit and Cathy smiles and it feels like she wraps her arms around you. They are all one of a kind and I am so glad they let me be apart of their family.
The older kids were acting like dogs and the girls were walking them on leashes, they even had names for them it was precious to see all the kids playing together. It is getting so much easier with the girls they love to go and do. I really enjoyed sitting and visiting with everyone for once.
Vic is an avid Steelers fan and he fell asleep and Scott placed a sign on him that said I love the Cowboys! We had to take a picture to show him. It was hilarious!
I can't wait til he sees the picture.
The dinner was Pennsylvania Dutch and it is Pork and Sauerkraut. Every strand of kraut is suppose to bring you good luck. Bring on the luck because I love kraut and ate enough for a years worth of luck. The dinner was great as always. Thanks Carole for always including me and my family. I love being a part of traditions and this is a great one with a great family.

Snowball Fight

The girls had so much fun on Christmas Day havig a snowball fight with daddy, mimi, and poppy. Brooke was so into the snowball fight. She would get a snowball and run and throw it and run away laughing. She was so excited when she would hit someone with a snowball. It absolutely was so adorable to watch her have so much fun. Presley was just as cute and was having the time of her life as well. As you can see from the pictures. We all had a blast!
I got a new lens for my camera and love taking pictures with it. It stays on my camera all the time. I am still getting use to it. It is a 50mm Prime Lens and the aperature goes to 1.4 so it really blurs the backgrounds. I love it and I am so grateful to my wonderful husband for getting me my lens. He is awesome!

A Few Of My Favorite Things

Christmas morning was a hit with the girls. Santa brought them the bikes they wanted. Brooke wanted a cars bike and Presley a princess bike. Mimi bought them the bouncy house and they have already had some fun times in it. They love it and daddy thinks it is great since it keeps them entertained for a while.
They got cameras, new beds for their babies, a bigger doodler, puzzles, dress up clothes, new strollers for their babies, babies that talk to them(Aunt Dottie and Uncle David they love their new babies), and much more. It was really fun this year with them and I know next year will even be better. Brooke still takes pictures of herself and won't let us show her how to use her camera. She will take a picture and look at it and say it is of something else but it is usually of her face because the camera is pointed towards her. It cracks me up everytime. Presley has the picture taking down. Brooke is more excited about her bike than Presley. She will ride for a little bit and then get on her tricycle. They have played really well with each other and all their new baby stuff. They are crazy about babies right now.
I love the family picture we took in front of the Christmas Tree, I can't believe we were all smiling. We took that on Christmas Eve when our family christmas was cancelled due to the weather. It was nice to have an evening with just us. The girls were so adorable and excited about Santa coming.
