Tim Holtz Class

This is Tim's project.

I love this picture because it is of Tim and I. He is my Creative Guru. This was the class of a lifetime for me. I had a blast.

This was a frame he showed us that he made and for you Michaels shoppers he purchased the frame at Michaels. I think I might have to case this one.

Here is my project. Sorry the photo isn't that great but you get the idea of the great class and of course the project. The middle canvas is crooked and after I took this photo I fixed it.

It was an amazing day. They did it in two parts, a group went with Cheryl and a group went with Tim. The part with Cheryl was fun and relaxed. The part with Tim was fast paced but so organized that I felt so at ease. He is an amazing teacher. For all you crafters out there if you ever have the chance to take one of his classes, do it. I don't think anyone will top him on my list.
I am so excited we leave for Chicago tomorrow. This will be the girls first plane ride. They are so excited. We tell them they are going on a plane and they say,
" and Clay and Josh too." They are too funny. We are going to visit friends and yes, Clay and Josh will be there also and on our same flight. Hmm! Two sets of twins on the same flight. It should be fun. Hopefully they will sleep. I'll let you know how it went when I get back.
Happy Fourth of July!

Father's Day and a New Family Member

Happy Father's Day Honey. We had a great day.
We also welcomed a new member into the family.
Hunter Clyde Rhodes was born. We all went to the hospital after we ate our lunch. I'm sure we smelled so fresh after being out in the heat. It is probably a good thing we didn't get to hold the baby we would have scares him withthe way we looked and smelled. We didn't get to see him very well because he was in the nursery and they couldn't turn him. We saw the back of his cute little head. So I have no pictures to post as of yet. But as soon as I get one I will post it.
The girls were so cute they could see another baby better so they were wanting to look at her instead of Hunter. They were calling her Baby Lily.

Look at my sweet girls. They were looking at Baby Lillie. She was in her stroller with a net over the stroller because the flies were horrible. That was pretty disgusting for a clean freak like me but I endured it and had a great time.

Daddy putting sunscreen on the girls. He is such a great father.

This is Papaw and Presley. I didn't get a picture of Papaw and Brook, she must have been running around.

These are the restrooms at The Loco Coyote Grill. It cracked me up because of the He and She above the bathroom doors. They weren't that bad for an adult but two potty training toddlers, not good.

This was the Bar. I loved this place but not in June.

This was the porch where we ate our lunch. It was nice because their was a breeze but it was still hot for a premenopausal mamma. The girls had a blast running around.

This is the front of the Resturaunt. I really do love the whole vibe and would love to come back when it is cooler. When we arrived a band was playing but they only played a few more songs and packed it up. Hmm! Do you think it was too hot for them.

The girls are watching Dora and look at Presley she is so tired.

Please excuse this post I did it all out of order but am too tired to redo it.
We bought the girls some bathtub paint today and here are the pictures. They used it all up and were sad when it was gone.

Well, we have had a fun but busy day. We started off by going to lunch and driving around looking at land. We want to move at some point to a little bigger house and one with more of a yard so the girls can have more room to play. The girls took their nap in the car while we drove around.
When we got home we made brownies and let me tell you the girls were a mess. I let them stir the brownies and then I let them lick the bowl they had it everywhere. I could kick myself because I didn't take a picture. When the brownies were finished I took them out of the oven and placed them on the stove. I pushed them back pretty far but Brooke reached up and touched the pan. Let me clarify, it wasn't right after I took them out, it had been a little while but the pan was still hot. She didn't cry but she said her finger hurt. So Gary got a bowl and put some butter in it and stuck her finger in the butter. She said it felt better. She then proceeded to eat the butter and then Presley had to have a bowl with butter. By the way Presley loves butter. She would eat just butter if I let her. She always wants butter to put on tortilla chips, she calls it "butter chip." Brooke's finger is fine I don't think the pan was that hot because once the brownies were ready to eat I never heard a peep about her finger hurting again.

We went to Babies R Us to return something today and ended up buying the girls a surprise. Presley got stackable nesting blocks(we already have some but they fight over them and decided that was something we could have two of) and Brooke got sidewalk chalk. But after we had already paid for their goodies Brooke decides she doesn't want hers anymore. As we are leaving she keeps saying, "Take it back not want it. Mommy take it back not want it. I told her it was too late we had already paid for it and if she didn't want it we would give it to someone who did.. Let me back up a little bit, when we were in the toy section she could not decide what she wanted and would grab several things and put them back. So when she found the chalk she was excited so I thought it was the item she wanted. Not! We ended up stopping by Michaels and getting her this finger paint thing she had right before she saw the chalk. I also through in some bathtub paint becuase I knew Presley wouldn't understand. She was happy again until we decided to stop by Chick-fil-a and get dinner then she said, "No chick-a-le, No chick-a-le." Gary and I laughed and told her we need to get her dinner. She said it the same way like ten times and we just laughed. It was so cute but she was not happy.
We got home and ate and then we played with the finger paints. They loved them. It was the Wonder Paints so they are clear and only work on their paper. I love it and so did they. Then it was off to bath with our new bathtub paints.
Whew! Man I am tired just writing this long long post. Sorry for the mess up and being to lazy to fix it. I am off to bed because the day has wore me out. Goodnight.

Donuts With Daddy

The girls school had donuts with Daddy on Thursday for Father's Day. I went of course to take a few pictures because last year I had a training and missed out on the pictures. The girls were excited to see their daddy at school. We followed him to the school and they laughed and pointed to daddy's truck the whole way. It was the cutest laugh one that put a smile on my face.
My sister in law Dottie is at the hospital having her baby. They said it would probably be 6:00am before she has baby Hunter. Please pray everything goes well for her because she has had some blood pressure issues.
Well I am off to bed.

Fishing for Fun

I went to a baby shower on Sunday and daddy took the girls to Bass Pro Shop to get them a fishing pole. It is a Barbie Fishing Pole. When I came home the girls met me at the door so excited to show me their new rods. Daddy put the wire on and showed them how to cast. They thought it was a game. We would cast and they would chase it and laugh. They don't have the casting down yet but they can reel it in pretty well. Oh, I look forward to the days when they go fishing with daddy and I have the whole house to myself. Hmm, enough day dreaming, they are far from that but it was fun to go there in my mind.
We were running errrands one day this week and Presley made me laugh so hard.

Presley:
Baby, Baby, Baby, Mommy baby, Baby, Baby, Brookie has a boppy (pacifier) she's a baby.

Brookie:
No, I not a baby

Presley:
Yes you have a boppy.

I know I shouldn't have laughed but it was funny. If you could have heard how she said it. Because the whole time she was saying this I was looking around thinking she had seen a baby but I didn't see a baby. We have been telling Brooke that boppy's are for babies and we need to give hers to the babies that don't have boppy's. I guess Miss Presley has been soaking that up like a sponge. She also will get one of Brooke's boppy's and act like a baby. She is too funny sometimes.
They are such a joy to listen to now. They have little conversations all the time in their little language.

Swimming Fun

We have been swimming with the girls more so they are use to the water before their swimming lessons start next week. Brooke has become a pro with the life vest, she is able to float on her own. She won't even let me touch her. Presley on the other hand is a little clingy but is doing better. She takes no chances. But she does watch Brooke and you can tell she is thinking about things. She has always been my little thinker, she is like her daddy in that way. They love to swim. I will be so glad when they can swim on their own because I won't worry so much about the pool. It is harder this summer because they know how much fun the pool is and want to go in it more often. I tell them they have to wait until daddy gets home because I cannot do it by myself.
I went to Lifetime Fitness's pool today and they went in the toddler pool and they were so cute. Presley would say, "Mommy I'm swimming, mommy I'm kicking." She was walking along the pool with her hands and kicking her feet. I think she really believed she was swimming. Precious! We will probably live their this summer. It was perfect because I could do it by myself. Yea! I have found another fun thing for us to do.
I met Brenda at the gym and we worked out first and let the kids play in the nursery and then went to get them to swim. We decided next time we would not workout and just let them swim. But, after seeing all the skinny minny's at the pool I probably shouldn't skip my workout. My body is definitely not bathing suit ready but my kids had fun and that's all that matters. I guess it is more of an incentive to get my rear in shape.
I have been keeping the girls so busy and boy does it pay off because they go to bed so easy no playing or calling my name. They are so pooped out they fall asleep really fast. It gives me time to get more done and to blog.

I watched Mason on Friday for a couple of hours while his mom had to work. I asked Brenda to bring Aleck over for some sprinkler fun. As you can see they all had so much fun together. They all played so well and no fighting between any of them. It was easier than I thought. We may have to bring Mr Wiggle (sprinkler) out more often during the summer months.

Having a little lunch after a fun day of playing.

My sweet Brookie

I took this picture right before I turned the sprinkler off. Look at all the stuff they have gathered by the sprinkler. They were having the time of their life.

Ready Set Go!

Look how well everyone is getting along. They found the chalk and had to draw on the concrete. Wet chalk is pretty messy good thing we had the sprinkler on so they could wash off.

My sweet little girls. Presley loves to lay down in a puddle of water and sometimes lick the water. Yuck! The things kids will do even when you tell them not to do it. Especially my little Presley she is so defiant at times. She sure was having a fun time, look at the smile on her face.

Gymnastics

The girls are now doing Gymnastics on Wednesday mornings. We had our first class and they did well. Presley was more cautious than Brooke but I expected that because she has always been more cautious. Brooke even jumped off of this platform into the foam blocks. I was surprised she did it. Presley climbed up there like she was going to do it but then turned right around and got off of the platform. Presley is a better listener than Brooke. I had to tell Mr. John to get onto Brooke a couple of times because she wouldn't listen to mommy. It never fails one child is good while the other one is a hand full. They trade off all the time. The joy of having twins. I love it most of the time. Just kidding, of course, I love it all the time. I am so blessed and appreciate every day I have with my girls.
Enjoy my pictures, I was practicing on my manual settings and they didn't turn out as well inside the gym. I am understanding it better but then I have a bad day of picture taking and realize I still have a lot to learn.

Splashing Around at the Zoo

We went to the zoo again on monday and once again it was a great time. We covered more of the zoo but I didn't take any pictures of the animals this time I wasn't in the mood to get my camera out at every stop. Lazy! The best part was playing in the water. The girls got absolutely soaked so I took their clothes off before we got to the car. We looked like we were little rag muffins until we got to the car. The price you pay to have fun. I enjoyed watching them run through the water, the cutest part was to watch the kids push each other so they could get under the water because it was a small spout. Don't worry it wasn't a mean push just a little one to let the others know it was their turn. It was so fascinating to watch them all play and get along even with total strangers. I have said this before but I truly love the innocense of children. They just want to have fun and so do I. It was another experience I will cherish with my sweet little girls and their friends.
