Happy Birthday Aleck

We had a great day at the park for Aleck's birthday. We love our play time with Aleck but when cupcakes are involved it's even better. The girls got kites from Aleck and they loved flying them for a short time, the attention span doesn't last long at this age. The dad's had more fun flying the kites than the children. We then headed to the playground and that is always a blast in Brooke and Presely's eyes. They could go to the park everyday if I would let them.
The card I made was the Tim Holtz technique I used on the last card. I love the look it makes, it is my favorite at the moment. Have I told you I heart Tim Holtz? Oh wait, I have and I will probably say it again. I love his style and can't wait to try more stuff from his new book.

Spring Cleanup and School Picnic

We had such a great day yesterday. Daddy helped the school do some spring cleanup and we went to a picnic after everyone was finished with the yard work. They were so excited to see their friends especially Joshua, they talk about him all the time. He was just as excited as you can see from the pictures he was dancing around. They tried the hula hoop but haven't mastered it yet, which I know they will. There was a DJ playing music and it was just precious watching Brooke do the chicken dance and YMCA. Mrs. Dickey had to help Presley a little. They also did the Limbo and Presley really got into the limbo. Presley seems to be more shy these days so it took her longer to warm up. We played on the play ground and the girls and Josua attempted teather ball. I love watching them interact with their friends. It was very windy but all in all we had a great time. Daddy says he is sore from all the yard work he did, but hey, it was for a great cause. Daddy pulled weeds in the courtyard. The courtyard is for the three year olds and it is so neat. They have fish thye feed, they plant flowers and just enjoy the prettiness of it all. I think it is such a special place for them and teaches them about taking care of living things.

Barrell Racing Anyone

We took the girls to watch Athen barrell race tonight. They thouroughly enjoyed watching the horses. Presley kept saying she wanted to ride the Pony and let me tell you if you know Presley she doesn't give up on anything. Brooke wanted to go see the horses and wined about it until we did it. We walked back to the stables and we saw Athen with her horse Demon just as we turned the corner. Once they got up close with a horse they were a little frightened but they warmed up a little and really enjoyed the whole experience. We decided to go to dinner with Polly and Cody and since we were close to Mimi's we dropped the girls off and headed to dinner. {Sigh}. No toddlers at dinner was heaven. Thanks Mimi and Poppy for watching the girls on such a short notice. They came home with some of Mimi's lip gloss and were thrilled, that is all they could talk about on the way home. They were so cute just babbling about what they did. It still amazes me at how precious they are and how lucky I am to have such beautiful girls.
I love the picture of Gary and Brooke because Gary is wide eyed because he closes his eyes in photos quite often, so he wanted to make sure he didn't close his eyes. It makes me laugh when I see it. Sorry honey but I had to post the picture.
I also love the picture of Athen kissing her horse. It was so sweet to watch her handle that big horse for such a small girl. She did great with him and you can tell she really loves that horse. By the way she had a great run and didn't knock down any barrells. Way to go Athen!

Saying Goodbye

We went to dinner last night to say Goodbye to Jaclyn, she is moving to Georgia because her husband got a job with Charles Stanley's Church, First Baptist Atlanta. She will be missed but I am happy for the plans God has in store for her and her family. It was fun and much needed girl time.
I made a tag for her using Tim Holtz technique, the colored background and the new distress inks. I am loving the new distress ink colors. Gary got them for me for Valentine's Day. I couldn't think of a better gift. I love the way the tag turned out. I am going to go through his new book and try every technique. I love the new book and did I mention I got one of the aprons that Tim made and my book was personalized. I heart Tim Holtz.

Happy St. Paddy's Day

We had a play date today with Mason and Jackson at the park. The girls were glad to see them both. We played at the park and then had a picnic lunch. They seemed to pick up where they left off since they don't see them at school anymore. We were going to go to the Science Museum and decided against it because it would be too crowded and so glad we did because it was a beautiful day.

Child of the Month

Mrs. D chooses two children to be the child of the month and you have to make a poster board that tells all about the child. Brooke is the child of the month in March. I really enjoyed making the project because I went through all my pictures and had a blast reminiscing. It took me forever because I had to look through every picture before I chose the ones I wanted to showcase on her board. A few tears were shed at times because I realized I miss the baby stage. I know, call me crazy but I miss holding and smelling their little necks and then constantly kissing their sweet cheeks. Then you get the feeling that you could just eat them up. Sounds weird but it is so true. They still let me kiss those sweet smelling cheeks, I will miss it when they won't let me do it anymore. Thank you Lord for my precious cargo.
Brooke was so excited when I finished her board. She had to carry it into school all by herself and show the teachers. She was so proud to show it off. I love you Brooke Elizabeth, your mommy's little girl!

Another Brooke

We went to have dinner at a friends house on Saturday night. Their daughters name is Brooke also and the girls were calling her Brookie on the way over to their house. The girls had a great time. They put on a fashion show and sang for us. They sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Brooke which will be 5 on Easter sang a Taylor Swift song. The girls just watched as she sang. The girls don't even know Taylor Swift. I thought to myself as I watched her sing, "Is that what I have to look forward to when the girls turn 5." She seemed much older than 5. I want my girls to stay young, they have plenty of time to find out about Taylor Swift. It was so cute to watch them have such a great time. We left the girls babies at Brooke's house so daddy went to pick them up today. Brooke was not happy that she left her new baby at someone elses house. She plays with her babies all the time.
