Science Museum

We spent Friday at the newly remodeled Science Museum in Fort Worth. It is a must see and do if you haven't been. The girls were way overloaded but in a good way. There was so much for them to do we didn't get to do it all. We bought a membership and will definitely be there over the Christmas break if not sooner. I think Brooke's favorite part was the water and Presley's was the grocery store. They even had a dinosaur dig but we didn't even make it to that adventure but I'm sure if it involves sand the girls would love it. We could have spent all day but the girls started to get a little fussy and we knew it was time to go. Presley cried all the way out because she didn't want to leave but of course, she never wants to leave.
They both fell asleep in the car immediately. I would say that the Science Museum was a hit with both of them. It is such a joy to watch that sparkle of wonder in their eyes.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well we finally did it! We got rid of Brooke's pacifier. She would only have it at night. I know, it is about time after all she is three now. I told her when she turned three we would tie it to a balloon and the paci fairy would take it to a new baby that needed it. I decided to wait until Monday after her birthday to send it off for good. Ms. Barbara had given her and Presley three balloons for their birthday and I thought how appropriate, today was definitely the day. So we arrived home from school and I walked right in to get Brooke's paci. I tied it to the balloon
and she started to whimper. I talked to her for awhile and explained the whole process and that a new baby would get her paci and that it was a good thing and she should be happy. I gave her the balloons and she put the paci in her mouth. I told her it was fine to say goodbye to her paci but we needed to let go of the balloons because the paci fairy was waiting for the paci. She couldn't let go of the balloons so Presley offered to let go of them. Brooke agreed and laid on the ground and sobbed. She then got up and ran into the garage and yelled, "Mommy I am mad." I felt so sorry for her at that time I asked her to come and set in my lap and I just loved on her and told her everything would be okay because she was a big girl now. She whined a little when it was bed time but did great. The next night she woke up three times and ended up in our bed. So lets see how well she does tonight. So I have to say I am Thankful this Thanksgiving the paci is gone and now if I could get them potty trained. They both have been wearing panties and are doing great. Presley even wore them when we went to eat but Brooke doesn't wear the panties as much because she just doesn't want to wear them. I think it is because she knows she has to stop what she is doing to take a potty break. My goal was to be pull up free by their third birthday and we are almost there. Hallelujah!
I took these pictures today and thought they were so adorable. Brooke finally let me put her hair in a pony tail. She is the reason her hair looks the same all the time. She doesn't like me to do different things with her hair. She is so adament about it. I can't even talk her into it. So, for all you people wondering about Brooke's hair there you have it the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Enjoy your day with family and cherish every minute.

A Birthday With Friends

We spent the girls birthday at my dearest friend Tammy's house. The girls love her house because she lives on land and they have chickens. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and great fellowship. The girls were shy at first but then perked up and were so good. We sang songs while others played instruments. Brooke was so adorable she sat by Tammy's brother Tracy as he played the guitar an just bobbed her head to the beat of the music. I think she was truly enjoying the music. Presley on the other hand wouldn't leave Tammy's lap. She will take advantage of that as long as someone will let her. It was great to see some of her family members that I haven't seen in a while. The girls fell asleep on the way home, they were so exhausted. It was a great way to spend their birthday with people we love so dearly.
Thank you to Sammy and Tammy for the invitation.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girls

Today is your Birthday and you are more and more like little girls. It seems like yesterday when I went for my last doctors appointment and never went home and then I saw your pretty faces and realized my life was going to change, of course, for the better. We had prayed for you and were so glad to finally get to meet you and look at you both now, you are turning three and are the light of my life and I can't imagine my life any different now. I love you both and love every day I spend with you.
We had a small birthday party on Friday night so daddy could go hunting over the weekend. It was the perfect evening and you both had a great time. Presley loved the new Birthday hats I bought, she put it on and left it on and crawled up in the chair and started smiling. She is such a ham for pictures. Brooke left it on long enough for me to get a picture. She has been that way since I can remember. She never leaves hats on long. I took the girls to Target so they could pick out their cake plates and Brooke chose Spiderman and Presley chose Mickey Mouse. The difference between the two of them is so obvious. I filled the house with balloons and bought a Mickey Mouse and Spiderman balloon and they had so much fun with those balloons. They loved all of their presents. We then lit the candles and sang Happy Birthday. The girls are always singing Happy Birthday and throwing in every person they know in the song. They love to sing the Birthday song. So they were really excited when it was sang to them. I was sitting on the couch with Brooke and she looked at me and said, "Mommy it was a good party." I hugged her and said, "yes, Brooke it was a good party". It just goes to show you even small things can make a difference in the eyes of a three year old. They don't have to have a huge bash to have fun. Those two little girls melt my heart on a daily basis. I love you both and hope you have many more good parties.

Kitty Cat

We have a new family member but Daddy doesn't agree. This cute little cat has adopted us. He goes in the backyard at night and eats Bailey's food so I think he thinks we are feeding him. He wouldn't let us pet him unil Mimi was watching the girls and she and the girls fed the cat and then he would let the girls pet him. He did bite Brooke and her feelings were so hurt. She is such an animal lover. Daddy was very upset by the whole incident but I think he was tired of being petted. He is realy a sweet cat and loves to rub up against the girls. Daddy wants to get rid of him but I say there is nothing wrong with having an outside cat. We'll see how it goes in the future. I have a feeling he will come up missing and one guess as to who will get rid of the cat. Yes, that would be daddy as the guilty culprit. I am going to send out an email to the neighbors to see if it is anyones cat before it comes up missing. We named him Socks. Isn't it too weird that Presley asked for a cat from Santa and this little fella showed up.

A Smile For Santa

I had a great day with the girls today. Be prepared this is one long post. Our hot water heater is not heating the water and cannot be repaired until Monday. We headed over to Mimi and Poppy's so we could all bathe and the best part for the girls besides seeing Mimi and Poppy is Hunter was going to be at Mimi's today. The girls were so excited to see Hunter. They thought since they had a bath at Mimi's that Hunter should have a bath, so we gave him a bath in the sink and he loved his bath and the girls loved watching him. It was such a beautiful day we played outside. The girls loved any chance to help with Hunter.
We left Mimis house around 2:30 and headed to Southlake to Sunshine Glaze to make an ornament and to see {drumroll please} SANTA, yes that is right Santa was at Sunshine Glaze today. The girls were a little hesitant at first. They wouldn't even go up to him unless I was there with them.(I love the picture of all of us) So we proceeded to paint our ornament and have a candy cane from Santa. Presley chose a Dog, Brooke chose a Santa Face and I chose a Christma Tree. It didn't take long for them to get bored and Brooke started painting her hand and Presley continued to eat the rest of her candy cane. I love the picture of the both of them painting and Santa in the background looking at the two of them. By the way dont you think he is a great Santa. We finished and the girls wanted to show Santa their great handy work and I was excited because I realized that they were warming up to Santa. And to my surprise, they sat on his lap together. I then said to them that they needed to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Brooke told Santa she would like a bounce house and Presley told Santa she wanted a kitty cat. I had to tell Presley that it might be hard for Santa to bring a cat in his sleigh. Brooke was all about Santa and Presley was still a little shy (as you can see by the picture with her fingers in her mouth) but she was still on his lap and that is all I cared about because I photographed this whole experience and I was tickled pink my little girls were being so good with Santa and with the whole day. I can't wait to see how their ornaments turn out.
The girls were not ready to go home so we decided to walk around Southlake Towne Square and we ended up over by the fountain so they could throw coins in the fountain. They took their shoes off and were having a blast. It was so sweet to watch them from a distance frolic in the water. They were so carefree and beautiful. I missed the photo opportunty but it is forever etched in my mind. The day was going absolutely wonderful and the girls were little angels so we decided to eat at Micocina. It was a pleasant fun filled day spent with my girls and I couldn't have asked for a better day. I love you both and thank you for such a wonderful day.
