Baby Card

I made this card for the baby shower I attended. This was the perfect card for who I was giving it to.
Paper: Blue Bayou, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery
Stamps: Cowboy Kid (retired), and Plaid Background
Sentiment: Made with my Cricut, font Opposites
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Black, and True Thyme
I colored the cowboy in with Gamsol and Prisma color pecils.
I also used my white gel pen on the paisley background.
I really liked the way it turned out. I am a little rusty. As I look at the card I feel like
I should have matted it with more colors. Oh well!

Monday Mojo Sketch and Retreat Info

Here is a card I made at the retreat this weekend. I made this for a sketch challenge for Julee at Poetic Artistry. I love this new set Fancy Florals I bought at Verve Visual. The CB is Old Olive and the rest of the paper is Basic Grey- Mellow. The sentiment is also in the Fancy Florals set. I stamped the flowers with Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. I used Fruit Punch Stickles for the dots in the flowers. The ribbon is a brown crinkle ribbon from Verve Visual also. I love how this ribbon ties so easily and has a little sheen to it. The small orange buttons are Lasting Impressions. I love everything about this card. I am going to send it to my friend who is having surgery tomorrow. Please say a prayer for my friend Julie that everything goes well.
Now for the details about the retreat. I had a blast! I haven't laughed that much in a long time. Everyone was wonderful. The accomodations were great and the food was to die for and yes, I cheated this weekend and didn't stick to my diet. I will be right back at it tomorrow. It was definitely worth cheating.
Thanks to Susan for organizing everything and to all of you who made me laugh. It was great to meet each and everyone of you. Somebody needs to cancel so I can go in April. (Hahaahhaaaa!) It was really fun to spend time with my SIL (Dottie) even though she wishes we weren't friends. (hahaha) I feel so much better after my little weekend and it was so good to see my children. Presley is pulling herself up. They seem to be better today so maybe those breathing treatments are really working. I really missed those sweet girls of mine. I couldn't keep my hands off of them when I got home. They were covered in kisses all night until they went to bed. Presley is really saying Mama a lot. I think she knows who Mama is now. My heart melts just hearing that sweet voice say Mama. Daddy says Brooke is a little booger, can you believe he said that about my darling daughter. She has the cutest faces. I just want to kiss those cheeks everytime she is near. Wow! can you tell I missed those girls. I am sounding sappy. Hmmmm! I must get to bed so I can get my rest for my day with my children tomorrow. Thanks to all for such a fun weekend.

Birthday Card

Here is the birthday card I made for Joni. Of course I couldn't post it until I gave it to her.
I used Chocolate Chip for the card base and Wild Wasabi. The rest of the paper is Basic Grey Infuse. I stamped the butterfly on shimmery white cardstock with Wild Wasabi twice, I cut one butterfly out and the second I only cut out the wings out. I then attached the wings to the first butterfly so it looked like the butterfly was fluttering. I used the new scallop punch as well as the 1 3/8 punch. The sentiment is a stamp I bought at LSS (Recollections) stamped with Chocolate Chip. I used the Antique Brass Hardware from Stampin UP. The ribbon I bought at Michaels in the $1 bin. I also used the stitches set from Paper Salon to stamp down the side of the card. I really like how this card turned out.

New Technique

Here is the card we made at Stamp Club last night. We did a new technique. We used acetate! You take two pieces of acetate and put two different colors on a piece of acetate and then you take your glossy CS and put it face down on the acetate with the ink and press. Wow! doesn't the background look cool. The little circles in the background were done with Sequin Scrap it is what is left over after they punch the sequins out. It was bought in the floral department at Michaels. Then you take the sequin scrap and sponge it on with ink. Then after your background is finished you can stamp your image with any stamp.

My Winnings!

I made this card with the set I won from the Bingo game.
I sent this to Julee as a Thank You. I hope she has received the card. (Ooops)
I used Old Olive for the card base. The patterened paper is My Mind's Eye Tres Bien collection. I also used Marigold Morning, Really Rust, and Very Vanilla. I used Stickles on the giraffe and the circles on the patterened paper. The punches used are photo corners and a ticket punch. The ribbon is a brown and ivory gingham I bought at Joann's. I also chalked the edges of the paper with Color Box Chalk in Chestnut Roan which is my favorite chalk color.
We had pictures made today and can I tell you the girls were so good and did so well. God must have been listening to my prayer. The photographer was great, for those of you who want a good photographer I highly recommend her. I found her through a friend (thanks Teri). I can't wait to see the final proofs. They had pictures taken in hats, bows, tulle skirts, and chenille bloomers. Oh my goodness they were adorable. If you're interested, her website is http://www.angelamphotography.com/
She is located in Keller, Texas. She is really great with children.
Thanks for looking.

Cute Card!

I received this adorable card from Julee from Poetic Artistry with the stamp set I won in the Bingo game. She is so talented. These little Hero Arts birds are so cute. This picture doesn't do the card justice it is much cuter in person. Thanks Julee!
