Fall Festival

The Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off has been a tradition since before the girls were born. We started going because of neighbors and now we are a part of the school. We use to take the girls in their stroller, my how time flies.

Presley loved playing the games, this was our second time to go through all the games. I think she enjoyed picking out the surprises. She was great at the ring toss but her favorite was the lollipop tree. Our class was in charge of the Lollipop Tree. I did my volunteering early so I could have fun with the girls.

Brooke enjoyed spending time with Bella. Her passion was the bounce houses.

The best part for me was spending time with family and friends

This was one of the Chili Booths, “Harvey’s Angels.” This is a great group of women.

The highlight of the day was Josh Hamilton was in the gym watching his daughter play volleyball. He was so gracious to sign autographs and take pictures with many people. He was asked if people were bothering him and he said, “No, not at all. I have been given a second chance.” He is such an honorable human being. Olivia loved getting her hat signed and her picture made with him. She was on cloud nine the rest of the day. He signed his name and a verse 1 Peter 2:4.

This is a tradition at the end of the Chili Cook Off, an egg toss. Gary and I participated but didn’t last too long because the egg broke.

Thanks Brenda for taking these pictures.

It was once again a fun time. By the end of the day I had lost my voice, Gary was happy I couldn’t be loud. I always leave the Fall Festival with

such a great feeling because of the wonderful people that take part in this event. I cherish the friendships I am making and hope they are everlasting.

Fall Fiesta

The school party was a Fall Fiesta. We decorated the whole room with Fiesta Stuff. The kids came in and loved all the decorations.

We had paper flowers attached to the chairs and maracas laying on the tables with the fiesta plates. We served bean burritos, chips and queso, fruit, and cupcakes.

We started playing the Fiesta music and they were immediately dancing on their bottoms. We had the kids do a conga line over to the dress up clothes. We didn’t have enough for everyone to wear a dress so we had to share. I bought mustaches for the boys and the girls wore flower head dresses.

Dress up got a little crazy but it was all worth it watching the fun they were having.

We had them do the limbo and they were all very creative in the ways they found to go under the stick.

Lunch was fun and festive watching them all enjoy themselves. Not sure our choices of food was the best but what else would you have with a Mexican Fiesta.

Our next adventure was to parade around the school and through the lunch room. The kids were beyond excited to show off their costumes and to make a little noise with the maracas. We waited for the cue for Mrs. Dashner to start the music and we made our grand entrance. The joy filled the room of all the children laughing and giggling with excitement. This truly made me so happy to see them have so much fun. This, is why I am room mom, so I can witness these special moments.

We had Pet Blessing this morning and these were the only pictures because Bailey is strong and likes to pull. I was not taking the chance of dropping my camera just to get a few more pictures. He was lucky he was able to come because he got sprayed by a skunk earlier this week for the third time since Labor Day. He was a little stinky but not too bad. Lord knows he needed a blessing. Brooke and Presley loved having Bailey there and were excited he was able to stay away from the skunk to make his presence.
We had to go by the Eagle’s Nest to purchase the handkerchief made out of the school’s plaid, it was almost too small but it was the last one. We also bought some hair clips for the girls and they were beyond happy.
I love watching the children as they show off their pets to their friends. Their little faces light up and it truly brings joy to their heart. Mrs.  Dashner's class was one of the last to leave. I don’t think the children realized it, but I did and it made me smile knowing that it’s the little things that matter and she gets it!
