Happy Fourth Birthday!

Happy Birthday Sweet Girls!

Look at you now, so beautiful!

I can't believe it's been four years. I will never forget the day you were born. I went for my last doctors appointment at 9:30am and never went home. The doctor sent me upstairs to monitor the both of you and my blood pressure was very high. I knew at that moment I was going to meet the two of you very soon. I was so excited to be there because I didn't think I could last another week carrying you. I was 36 weeks and the doctor wanted me to make it to 37 weeks but God had other plans and mommy was very happy. It was a crazy day in the hospital, it was also the day before Thanksgiving. I didn't even bring my camera so daddy had to go back home to get a few things for me and to get the camera. They even had me on the table about to give me my epidural and had to take me off because an emergency patient came in and they only had two surgery rooms. Like I said it was a crazy day at Baylor Grapevine. Baby A (Brooke) was born at 5:43 pm and  Baby B(Presley) at 5:45pm. Brooke weighed 5lbs and Presley weighed 5' 12. Brooke was sent to the NICU for breathing issues I saw her long enough to get the picture above and I do have to say it is my most cherished picture of the both of you. Brooke was in the NICU for 4 days and ended up having more digestive issues than breathing. I was able to breast feed Presley and would send pumped breast milk and daddy would feed you. It was a hard couple of days but was the best days because you both were here and doing fine. Since Brooke was in the NICU, I didn't name you until I could see the both of you. Once I was off of the magnesium and feeling better a sweet nurse wheeled me down to the NICU in my bed so I could see you to make sure the name Brooke fit you and the minute I saw you I knew Brooke would be your name. I wish I remembered the sweet nurses name because that meant so much to me and I will always remember that precious act of kindness. The last four years have been the best four years of my life and I love you both very much and can't wait to see you grow into little ladies. Thank you God for such wonderful blessings.

Love the story. See, you don't need to redo your old blog posts...you'll journal it all eventually.
